Nelson Re-Imagined

Led by Andy Abbott, Nelson Reimagined is a three-year journey exploring how a post-industrial town can rediscover its creativity, resilience, and future possibilities through art, community collaboration, and imaginative thinking. Working with residents, community groups, and artists from multiple disciplines, the project asks: What could the future of Nelson be? How can art and culture shape a sustainable legacy? How can local people reclaim agency and reimagine their town together?

Across themes of play, community resilience, listening, and collective imagining, Nelson Reimagined brings together artist-led research, mapping, storytelling, game design, shared meals, foraging, walking, and interdisciplinary talks.
