Lost in Translation

In 2019, In-Situ worked with Liverpool Biennial to bring an exhibition from the Biennial programme to Nelson. Mums 2 Mums visited the Biennial and selected work by Madija Aijaz to be shown back in Nelson. In order to explore and go deeper around the work, we commissioned artist Zara Sagir to work with Mums 2 Mums in dialogue with the exhibition and its themes, about language, libraries and migration. The Mums 2 Mums developed film and artwork with Zara, and these were exhibited alongside the Biennial exhibition at Nelson Library.
