Helen Bartosinski

Helen spends as much of her time outdoors as she can, enjoying long walks and swimming, noticing nature and breathing in fresh air. She plays the flute and piano and values the connection and energising collective purpose that group music-making enables. She is a mum to two brilliant young girls and enjoys taking them on adventures.

She is a Communications Specialist who has worked across almost every form of arts, culture and heritage. Beginning her career in classical music, she moved to working in theatres for several years in London and then at the Dukes Theatre, Lancaster. She went freelance in 2017 and has worked with a wide variety of organisations since then, including the digital theatre company imitating the dog, Tullie in Carlisle, Arts Lancashire and Culturapedia. Currently she is working for the Barrow-in-Furness Creative People and Places organisation BarrowFull, working with local people to shift decision-making away from power-centres and into the hands of community members, and Morecambe’s More Music, who provide a programme of music-making sessions for all alongside a gig calendar of unique and outstanding hand-picked music.

Her favourite aspect of work at the moment is around using language, images and film to encourage people to feel like experiencing creativity will have a positive impact on their lives.
