Ayesha Butt

Having moved to the UK from Pakistan in 2001 as a spouse, I dedicated myself fully to my family and community as a wife, mother, daughter-in-law and active volunteer. These roles shaped my values and taught me the importance of empathy, listening and creating spaces for others to grow. While I cherished those years, I reached a point where I wanted to explore new opportunities-not only for personal growth but to contribute more widely to the community around me.

My journey with In-Situ began as a participant in the Mums 2 Mums group and a community arts project with Eva Sajovic. Though I do not come from an arts background, I was drawn to In-Situ’s non-hierarchal structure and its ethos of equal value and say. When the opportunity arose to join the team in an administrative capacity, I seized it- and was fortunate to be welcomed into a space where I could grow professionally while staying true to my values.

In my current role as a Operations and Administration, I manage a range of responsibility including report preparation, policy design, digital file and IT systems management and general administrative support. I’m also undertaking finance training to expand my capabilities and support the team further.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking, exploring nature, travelling, cooking and spending time with family and friends. I thrive in multicultural spaces and deeply value interfaith and intercultural dialogue. Listening to other stories and learning from different perspectives is something I hold dear and I bring that same spirit into every role I take on.

I always welcome the chance to contribute my energy, dedication and perspective to the team.
