Get involved

Ingrid POllard 3.jpg

There are regular opportunities for adults and young people to be involved in creative projects, community conversations and local decision-making, make connections and have new experiences.

This is Nelson

Part of the Nelson Town Deal, this partnership programme between In-Situ, Building Bridges and Super Slow Way will take place over the next 3 years, bringing artists to help us re-imagine Nelson, open up underused spaces, think sustainably and support ground-up community activism in the town.

Check here for opportunities to be involved in projects around neighbourhoods, navigating green and blue spaces, growing food and heritage and migration.

In Brierfield

Open youth group at The Garage
All welcome, just turn up.

Our youth worker Zoya talks about the different young people's activities on offer at In-Situ and the difference they're making in Pendle.

"The group is a really great way to get people out, prevent isolation and promote well-being, but it is definitely about having fun, being creative and celebrating each other."
- Steven Greene, founder of group.”

"I am so happy that this group is here. For years I have had to travel to Leeds which was not ideal due to time or financial restrictions."

"I am an ally of the LGBTQ+ and I am delighted for the group. The space is so welcoming as are the members. Its so good to see lots of different ages and backgrounds at the group. I always leave with a smile on my face."

Talkaoke

Talkaoke is a public, pop-up talkshow where the conversation is set by those around the table - and anyone can join! It was developed by artist-collective The People Speak.

Next time you see the lit up round table in town, feel welcome to sit down and join in the chat - share your views and listen to others. We want to hear from you!

Watch how In-Situ has used Talkaoke to facilitate difficult and challenging community-wide conversations in Pendle

Together with our neighbouring partners Building Bridges Pendle and in solidarity with our community, we are holding space for conversation about the genocide in Palestine.
