About the Event
Welcome to The Lone(ly) Arts Club
(We’ve been playing around with what to call this developing online gathering)
Following our last session we agreed to explore the first Friday in the month moving to run a regular online forum for artists and practitioners from East Lancashire (and beyond), so spread the word with anyone who might be interested. Here are details to register to attend the next event on Zoom.
The session will continue to be more of an informal group conversation, focusing on funding, resilience, practice sharing and also a chance for you to continue to reflect on how the current situation is affecting your practice. Any opportunities/advice can also be shared.
This month we will have:
Jenny Rutter (Super Slow Way) sharing some practical advice on ACE project grants (it will come back at some point)
Sophie Mahon In-Situ associate artist and programme co-ordintor will talk about her journey into securing commissions, Sophie is currently working on a commission with Heart of Glass.
Sophie Skellern: Artists and Project manager, Sophie is currently undertaking a PHD with In-Situ on our practice and becoming an NPO, Sophie will be sharing some thinking and provocations on working within a social/community context for us all to discuss.
Again the plan will be informal with a break and a chance for people to talk, share ask questions and generally catch up. We can also talk and respond to ideas people may have, including people talking more about there own practice (we have had a few volunteers already at a future session)
